First Shiner

My poor baby got his first black eye a few weeks ago:( He fell into the corner of our coffee table (luckily it is rounded) and it left a nasty bruise right under his left eye. He woke up the next morning with a full fledged black eye. His shiner stuck around for a good three weeks. Needless to say the coffee table has found a new home in our garage. The first two pics are shortly after the fall and the last three are from a few days later. I am sure this is only the beginning of injuries for us but I figured the first black eye was worth documenting!

Cookout fun!

The Woodruffs had us over for a cookout in honor of Owen's birthday! Carter Jones got to get in on the celebration too:) We had a great time and are so thankful to have great friends! I wasn't the best at pics but did get a few. I can't believe I didn't get any pics of the very gracious hostess (thanks Mems) or Cole and Cy playing in the pool.  They were having a blast! Owen will be able to hang with the big kids one day but for now he stuck to the baby swing and push car! Thanks again guys!

I had to snap a few pictures on Owen's actual birthday. Matthew and I had to work so I made spaghetti that night and we invited Mr. Trey and Mrs. Ally over for dinner and cupcakes. Owen really didn't like his cupcake either. I am in shock that my child doesn't like cake! Of course he had to sport his birthday shirt again that Amanda from bibs and cribs made! I thought it turned out so cute!

I HATE CAKE!

Owen was not a fan of his cake AT ALL! Jacquelyn from Palette Catering in Little Rock made a smash cake with a pig face on it for Owen and tractor and cow print cupcakes for the adults. They were adorable and I am kicking myself for not getting pictures! I highly recommend them- everything was outstanding. I guess this little guy did not get my sweet tooth. I'll let the pictures do the talking....

Birthday Part 1

I can't believe my baby is a year old! It really blows my mind! We planned on having a family party in Stuttgart for Owen's birthday at my parents house. Around 5 pm on Friday my dad gave us a big scare! He passed out on in his chair for 15 seconds or so, 911 was called, and he was taken out to the Stuttgart hospital. Long story short, he had an electrical problem with his heart so he got to take a helicopter ride to the Baptist Cardiac Critical Care Unit to have a pacemaker put in. As his cardiologist said he was a "pain in the butt" and had to go back in for a second surgery to have his pacemaker moved a bit almost immediately after his first surgery. Needless to say we were all very worried! He stayed in the CCU for 3 nights and finally got to go home on Monday. Words cannot express how thankful I am that he is recovering well and will be back out on the golf course in no time! I can safely say I will NEVER forget Owen's first birthday!



So we had a little party on Sunday at Uncle Todd and Aunt Chanda's new house, which is beautiful and has a very nice pool in the backyard! We had a short but sweet party which was good for a cranky birthday boy! I couldn't have made it through the weekend without the help of Tudi and Papa (and Matthew). Thank you so much for taking care of Owen and feeding us at the hospital all weekend. I am so grateful for your help. I was reminded me of my blessings and remember how important it is to not take one single minute for granted! Here are a few pics from the party (I was not a very good picture taker but I was just a little sleep deprived by this point!)

Swimming

I bought Owen a tiny (and I mean tiny) pool for the backyard. I am pretty sure we are going to need a bigger one for him soon. The water was waaaay to cold for him on our first attempt at swimming so we just hung out on some towels in the overgrown grass. He really hates his hat and refuses to keep it on for over 2 seconds so not sure what we are going to do all summer! Here are some pics of him lounging on beach towels...

It's been a while...

It has been so so long since I have posted! I finally got a new little camera so maybe I will be motivated to post more pictures on here! We have been busy the past few months with birthdays, traveling to Little Rock and Stuttgart, enjoying visits from grandparents, fighting stomach bugs and colds, teething, working, etc. Not to mention this little active guy keeping us on our toes already! I know it will only get more interesting from here on out, but Owen is a very busy little man! He is getting such a personality! He is learning so many things and I love watching those wheels turn as he figures out the world around him. Here are some recent pics of our now 10 month old!

The last three pics are a few examples of what Owen has been doing lately! He figured out how to get Maya's kennel opened and crawled inside. Of course, I had to shut the door and take a pic:) He has also been trying to buck out of his highchair. He yells at us and tries to jump out on his own. He also loves to crawl under everything, especially walker, our kitchen table, and our coffee table! He is just too much these days:)
