Six months already?!

So we got a little video camera for Christmas and caught some laughs from Owen. I was just looking at him and said "ok" in a deep voice and he just lost it. I'm not sure why that was so funny but it worked like a charm for a while. It is a pretty old game now though!

Owen turned six months on December 23rd. He is just growing up too fast. Here are some things Owen is doing these days:

- scooting around everywhere! he is going to be crawling any day now. he can now get one elbow underneath him and pull with the other hand to get anywhere he wants to go. let the babyproofing begin!

- gives "kisses" (open mouth bites preferably to the chin or nose) and "hugs" (arms around the neck with two fistfuls of hair)

- loves Maya (our dog) and trys to give her hugs and kisses too. The cats don't let him close enough for that or he would

-eats rice cereal with pears and likes sweet potatoes (we haven't tried a lot of foods yet since we were trying to get him on formula)

-big boy! 18 lbs (between 50th and 75th percentile) and 28 inches (90th percentile). still little peanut head :)(40th percentile)

-sleeping through the night this week- hopefully it will stick but we did have a few nights with 2-3 hour playtimes!

-very vocal, starting to make some "b" sounds and loves to make high pitched "screams"

Little Monster

Owen got all dressed up in his monster outfit for my Halloween work party. I managed to snap a few pictures before we left for the party. I wish I could take credit for this cute little getup but it was a gift from Erica and Colin. I have been waiting for him to grow into it and the timing couldn't be more perfect. We think he makes a pretty cute little Halloween monster!

We fed Owen his first bowl of rice cereal last night. He gobbled it up! I don't think we are going to have any problems starting baby food:) Had to document for the grandparents!

Visit from Great Grandma Ellis

Matthew's mom and grandmother stopped by on their way back from Kansas City yesterday. Everyone in the family calls her Gramere which is French for "Grandmother" (not sure how to spell that so any help would be appreciated:) Owen thought she was very very funny and loved pulling her scarf! Thanks for the great visit! We love you!

4 months

I am seeing a pattern here! I guess I should post more often than once a month! We have been busy around here with work, traveling, celebrating birthdays, and just enjoying our little man. Owen has been smiling and laughing out loud these days. He is getting a little personality! He has also started watching our dog, Maya. He watched her eat last night and just couldn't figure her out! Here are his four month stats so I won't forget!
Weight: 14 lbs 14 oz (50th percentile)
Length: 25+ (can't remember exactly but 75th percentile)
Head: 25th percentile

Finally captured a big cheesy grin! Wonder where he gets that from?

3 months old!

I can't believe Owen is three months old already! He is full of smiles these days! Here are some pics of his favorite activities- sitting in his Bumbo and playing on his playmat. He is getting so strong and constantly moving already! We are going to be in for it when he gets mobile! As you can tell, he has lost all that hair he was born with- no more mohawks for this guy for a while:)

We took Owen to church the other Sunday and dressed him in an adorable sailboat outfit we got as a shower gift. When we got home, I decided he needed some accessories (the matching bonnet and bib). As you can tell, Owen did not agree with my decision!

Like Father Like Son

A long long time ago (Memorial Day weekend) we went over to Ben and Leslie's for a cookout. I had to snap some pics of Owen hanging out with the boys watching TV! He still really loves sports but also enjoys E News, Khloe and Kourtney take Miami, and Rachel Zoe. He will be very well rounded one day!

2 months!

Owen was 2 months old on Sunday. Everyone says it but time really does fly by! He had his 2 month check up and shots today. Poor baby! Here are some recent pics (forgive my terrible camera and picture taking skills) and some stats and updates for the grandparents!

-weighing in at 12 lbs, 11 oz (75th percentile), almost 24 inches long (75th percentile)
-40th percentile for head circumference
-loves to eat! eating 4 oz anywhere from 2-3 hours
-sleeping 6-7 hour stretches at night
-loves whistling (thanks again Granny!), funny faces, and songs
-would stare at the tv for hours if we let him
-gives lots of smiles (but I can't seem to capture them on camera!)
-very vocal like his daddy- lots and lots of grunting!
-loves to be naked and LOOOVES bathtime
-is very strong and active (we are going to be in for it when he gets mobile!)

I can't believe how much he is growing up! We love you big boy!

My mom came up to keep Owen last week for my first week back to work. She was a HUGE help to us! Owen now loooves whistling thanks to Granny! We love and miss you! (this is an old pic but one of my favorites)

Thankfully Matthew's color returned to normal (see first post) and he was able to calm down after delivery! Ha! He was such a great supporter and I couldn't have done it without him!
