Christmas Night

We spent Christmas night with the Taylors. Chuck is a chef so I ALWAYS look forward to meals at their house. He is an amazing cook. I am seriously embarassed about this because this is the ONLY picture we took that night. My apologies to Tudi and Papa. I guess we were just too tired! Here is Owen with the 3 monkeys Aunt Chanda got him! He looooved those monkeys!! Thank you for a fabulous meal and all that you do for us!! We love you!

Christmas Day

We spent Christmas Day with the Webers. We had a wonderful lunch and Owen got way too many presents! Thanks Mimi and Abu! Owen was a little tired and not as happy as usual since he was up alot the night before. We had great time though!

The best Christmas present ever!

Aunt Chandy is a GREAT babysitter! Owen loooves her! I can't believe these were the only pics we got. New Years resolution- TAKE MORE PICTURES!!!!

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve at my parents house in Stuttgart. We had a great time with the fam! Owen wasn't real sure what to do with his presents. He liked eating the paper more than unwrapping the presents. We got some video of him unwrapping his first present but I will spare you that video. Also, our video camera does not take the best pictures so please disregard the quality of these pics. Guess that's what I get for letting Matthew do the shopping:) Here is Owen chewing on his new cell phone...

We got my parents snuggies for Christmas. We made them model for pictures so my dad got the bright idea of switching them up. He has always looked so good in pink:)....

Aunt JuJu with Owen all ready for bed. Owen was so excited for Santa that he was up from 11-2 something a.m. He woke my parents up so they relieved Matthew and I and we got some much needed sleep! Who can blame him though! Christmas is just too exciting!

Owen's Baptism

Owen was baptized on December 13. It was a wonderful day and we felt so blessed being surrounded by our families and friends. Thank you to all for making the day so special. The baptism was performed in between the two morning masses at St. Joseph's so it was a very sweet, intimate ceremony. Deacon Baldwin did such a great job and we are forever grateful to him. Owen was baptized in the same gown that Matthew's dad (Abu) was baptized in and several other family members were baptized in as well. A special thanks to Grandmother Weber for lending this special heirloom to us!



I also want to say thank you to Owen's Godfather, Chris Fitz. He was Matthew's sponsor during our confirmation classes and we grew very close to he and his wife, Mary Ann, who was my sponsor. They have two wonderful boys who I know will teach Owen all the ropes one day!



This day was also so special because I had one of my very best friends beside me. Sarah lost her sweet baby girl Mamie two days after Owen was born. We went through our pregnancies together and we both feel like Owen and Mamie share a very special connection. God carried Sarah through the ceremony that day and I know her sweet angel was watching over her and her husband, Taylor. I have learned so much from Sarah and admire her for making it through each day with an amazing amount of faith. She is an example to all and I am so blessed to have her in my life and am so honored to call her Owen's Godmother. Thank you Sarah and I love you!

The entire family! Owen is blessed to have so many people that love him. We missed my sisters, nieces, and nephews who weren't able to be there. We love you all!

Six months already?!

So we got a little video camera for Christmas and caught some laughs from Owen. I was just looking at him and said "ok" in a deep voice and he just lost it. I'm not sure why that was so funny but it worked like a charm for a while. It is a pretty old game now though!

Owen turned six months on December 23rd. He is just growing up too fast. Here are some things Owen is doing these days:

- scooting around everywhere! he is going to be crawling any day now. he can now get one elbow underneath him and pull with the other hand to get anywhere he wants to go. let the babyproofing begin!

- gives "kisses" (open mouth bites preferably to the chin or nose) and "hugs" (arms around the neck with two fistfuls of hair)

- loves Maya (our dog) and trys to give her hugs and kisses too. The cats don't let him close enough for that or he would

-eats rice cereal with pears and likes sweet potatoes (we haven't tried a lot of foods yet since we were trying to get him on formula)

-big boy! 18 lbs (between 50th and 75th percentile) and 28 inches (90th percentile). still little peanut head :)(40th percentile)

-sleeping through the night this week- hopefully it will stick but we did have a few nights with 2-3 hour playtimes!

-very vocal, starting to make some "b" sounds and loves to make high pitched "screams"

Little Monster

Owen got all dressed up in his monster outfit for my Halloween work party. I managed to snap a few pictures before we left for the party. I wish I could take credit for this cute little getup but it was a gift from Erica and Colin. I have been waiting for him to grow into it and the timing couldn't be more perfect. We think he makes a pretty cute little Halloween monster!

We fed Owen his first bowl of rice cereal last night. He gobbled it up! I don't think we are going to have any problems starting baby food:) Had to document for the grandparents!
